Selecting 100 top hedge funds to start with from the thousands in existence is by no means an exact science and they were selected on features such as size, activity in the public markets and appeal, tested against big investors and funds of funds. The list of top hedge funds shouldn't be used to indicate a qualitative opinion but more as a starting point as a compact guide for readers that require handy references to hedge funds and managers. We will add more over time until this becomes a comprehensive listing!
