Social Network Values... a counter argument

The author may have a point in respect of mainstream horizontal social networks, but when the composition of a network itself defines its marketing context, and the revenue models extend beyond simple advertising into direct provision of utility to its members, then his argument falls down.

So are we now in the era of VERTICAL social networks, where member composition defines value, not just the underlying communication technologies? Thats our bet, and our strategy!
