Women are better than Men buy Gifts

Of course, we know from experience that long since women is better at buying gifts than men. Now there is also scientific evidence.

Communication Scientist Monique Pollmann and social psychologist Llja van Beest shown that women actually make better choices when it comes to picking out gifts that suit the preferences of the recipient.

Three Studies

The researchers conducted three studies. In the first study, 122 people with different relationships were asked from a folder with several gifts to choose from. First for himself and then for the other gifts in two subsequent studies were asked in advance how much they would find. Certain gift shops to some people

The 262 participants in these two studies were given a picture of these people to see, and looked at how well the participants were able to choose which corresponded to their preferences. Out gifts for them Women scored on these tasks better than men. It did not matter whether the other person was a family member, a friend or a stranger, and was a man or a woman, or even the other, with all possible recipients selected women more appropriate gifts.


No Association with Empathy
