Oil and Bonds Market Analysis (Video)

June 27, 2017 by EconMatters   Comments (0)

By EconMatters

We discuss the global bond market selloff sparked by comments from Mario Draghi which investors and traders interpreted as hawkish, and bad for their current positioning in bond markets, which is stretched to put it mildly. This affected global bond markets from the United States to Australian Government Bonds. We also talk about the short covering rally fueled by the Brent contract expiration, and the need to cover a whole bunch of shorts in the oil market the last couple of days!

By EconMatters

We discuss the divergence of the 10-year bond from gold that has occurred over the last three weeks, and lay out the reasons why this change from the year`s correlated market trade for the first five months of the year has recently changed. Gold doesn`t pay a yield; take away the fear component, and it has lost a bid here!

Price Action Trading (Video)

June 25, 2017 by EconMatters   Comments (0)

By EconMatters

We talk more about the cult of Price Action Trading in this market video, this trading methodology of the last 10 years has had a lot of influence on financial markets. We discuss a simplified definition of what really constitutes Price Action Trading, and give you real world specific tools to utilize to create an understanding of your given market, and create a profitable trading edge. You can develop a market edge, just how bad do you really want it, are you willing to work for it, and can you stay disciplined. Most people cannot meet this rather simple criteria for success in trading, they ultimately get in their own way in some form or fashion. Really good professionals at higher end professions inevitably exhibit special qualities that are hard to execute on, this is why over and over again, these individuals are always rather relatively small subsets of the overall large pool of the general population. It is a whole lot easier being a Price Maker as opposed to a Price Taker in Financial Markets! The greatest edge in Financial Markets belongs to the Price Maker.

The big question for next week is can Oil hold $42, and maybe even have an up week? But Central Banks have made many markets a lot calmer than they would otherwise be for this time of year, and the collapse in the energy complex.

EIA Oil Report Analysis 6-22-2017 (Video)

June 22, 2017 by EconMatters   Comments (0)

By EconMatters

We discuss the EIA Oil Inventory Report in this video, it actually was a pretty good report, with gasoline doing a lot better from a demand standpoint than all the pessimism in the market. I expect the next two EIA Reports to be good in front of the July 4th Holiday, and with the products and Brent contracts expiration coming up next week, I expect some short covering, and a little bit of a short squeeze in the oil market. Gasoline is too low given the demand numbers we are going to see over the next two weeks, and the current price in the futures market, it shouldn`t be this low heading into the July 4th extended weekend. Needless to say, there are a lot of shorts in the market, and a nice 10 Million drawdown in Crude over the next couple of weeks will squeeze a lot of Oil Shorts who have gotten a little carried away here given the time of the year.

The Cure for the Oil Market (Video)

June 20, 2017 by EconMatters   Comments (0)

By EconMatters

We discuss the solution that we think needs to be implemented in the oil industry in this macroeconomic video regarding changes to fix the current poor fundamentals in the oil market from a business standpoint. The Oil Companies are basically running their operations to the benefit of consumers right now! We suggest a complete reversal of the protecting the dividend at all costs strategy that is self defeating for oil producers in the long run in this video. Every oil executive should watch this video, they might just save their job in the process.

Natural Gas and Oil Market Analysis (Video)

June 19, 2017 by EconMatters   Comments (0)

By EconMatters

We discuss Natural Gas in this Market video, trying to determine if anything, what  the new low in Natural Gas is giving us clues to the next move in the Oil Market. A lot of this is probably dependent on this week`s inventory reports, (API) and (EIA) on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, but technicals can at times be foretelling as to what is about to occur next. Just keep an open mind to both sides of the trade, as money is made in both directions, why limit yourself as a participant by being closed minded and Dogmatic in your viewpoints?

The Grains Market (Video)

By EconMatters

We discuss the Grains Market in this video covering everything from Rough Rice and Corn to Wheat and Soybeans Markets. Some interesting charts in the agriculture space as we take a closer look at some of the lower volume boutique grains in this video. The space as a whole is showing signs of life after a dismal five years of a bear market, whether this just amounts to intra-year trading and positions, or the start of a major trending breakout is to be determined.
