Bridging the Gap between Fossil Fuels and Alternative Energy

November 11, 2010 by World Market Media   Comments (0)

Wind Energy, hydroelectric power and the rest of the alternative power source gamut all took a hit in 2010 as tightening budgets drove local governments, business owners and consumers back to fossil fuels. Despite theoretical support from politicians, environmentalists and consumers who want renewable energy and abridged reliance on fossil fuels, an increasing number of projects devoted to alternative energy are being deferred as governments remain reluctant to add extra charges to consumer’s electricity bills. By the close of the third-quarter, installations of new wind power this year dropped 72 percent from 2009 levels, according to the American Wind Energy Association, a trade group.
